We are a small award-winning artisan bakery based in Morningside and Leith, Edinburgh. We have been open for over 15 years, and are considered one of the top bakeries in the city, supplying farmer’s markets and a number of amazing Edinburgh business. We produce a range of very high-quality award-winning breads, biscuits, cakes and pastries from scratch on our premises, using the minimum of ingredients and no pre-mixes, enhancers, improvers or additives.

We currently have 2 vans and three drivers, and we need to recruit a new main driver. The role will be for 4-5 days a week (Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday & Saturday with optional Thursday). Mainly the role is packing orders and making deliveries to our fantastic customers round Edinburgh and then checking and cleaning out the van after each shift. The drivers also support us with our farmers markets, delivering and picking up staff, breads and equipment. You will start at 4am, packing orders, and then delivering to our shop, wholesale and home delivery customers and markets. We would expect you to be finished most days by 10am, though on Saturdays there is a requirement to collect staff from our Castle Terrace market at 2pm (and hire vans may need collected and returned too)

This is a great role for early risers, who like to have the main day free. This role may suit someone who is recently retired, but still active and physically fit, or a student looking for work to supplement studies (or anyone who is looking for a steady regular part-time driving job).

As our new driver, you will work from Leith and will need to
- be a **careful and considerate driver**, with a clean driving licence.
- be **flexible**, as our needs change constantly,
- have **very high hygiene standards **as you will be working with food
- be **physically capable **of carrying heavy crates of bread, and
- be **polite, **with **great customer service skills**, as you will be the main contact with our wholesale customers
- have **weekend** **availability**

Hours
- Shifts from 4am
- over 4 or 5 days per week (extra may be required for holiday cover, and the role may be extended) Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturday, with an optional Thursday (another of our drivers will happily take on this day),
- Average 28-33 hours per week (flexibility is required)

Clean UK driving licence required held for a minimum of 1 year.

**Job Type**: Part-time

Pay: £11.50 per hour

Expected hours: 28 - 35 per week
