We currently require a suitably qualified person to join our service and manage the team of Sonographers in the busy Ultrasound Department. The service is located within Radiology at Prince Philip Hospital in Llanelli, Carmarthenshire.
We perform a wide range of Ultrasound investigations in the Radiology, Ante-natal, and Out-patient departments.
Applicants must be a Registered Health Professional with an appropriate post graduate qualification in Medical Ultrasound and evidence of management experience. There may be a requirement to work flexible hours to meet service demands.
A senior HCPC registered radiographer responsible for the day to day provision of a comprehensive, efficient, relevant, and cost effective ultrasound service at the base site of Prince Philip Hospital and the associated community hospitals.
The post holder will assist the radiology services manager, Site lead Radiographer and lead radiologist in managing and organising the clinical radiology service, assist in ensuring that guidelines and protocols are in place to ensure recognised best practice is performed and maintained throughout the Health Board and will provide a lead for clinical development of professional ultrasound staff. In addition you may be involved in the supervision of student radiographers.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
There may be a requirement to travel between sites occasionally to meet the needs of the service.

- Numerous locations providing mental health and learning disabilities services;
- Highly specialised and tertiary services commissioned by the Welsh Health Specialised Services Committee, a joint committee representing seven health boards across Wales
