**About the Service/Department**
Hestia provides trauma informed care and support to survivors of Modern Slavery through our homely safe-houses and responsive outreach service, assisting individuals to recover from the effects of trafficking and supporting survivors on their journey through the National Referral Mechanism recovery and reflection period. This service supports Men, Women & Families

Referrals to the service are increasing with more survivors identified regularly; however, there is still more work to do. Hestia is continuously developing new and innovative projects and services to meet the needs of survivors of Modern Slavery.

**About the role**
To provide a high-quality frontline service to individuals who may have experienced trafficking and modern slavery, including sexual and criminal exploitation, domestic servitude, and other forms of exploitation.

Some other main responsibilities of the role include:

- Participate in referral line rota and accept new client referrals between hours 9am-10pm
- Carry out initial assessments with new clients and deliver initial subsistence payments in the community
- Respond to emergency needs of clients including but not limited to; subsistence payments, homelessness, medical needs, appointment cover, safe house maintenance

**About you**
- Experience of providing advice and support to vulnerable adults, ideally to survivors of Modern Slavery although this is not essential
- Experience of working with adults with substance misuse issues and ill mental health
- Knowledge and understanding of the criminal justice system, immigration law, safeguarding adults and children and legal responsibilities
- Demonstrate awareness of safe practice when lone working
- Knowledge and experience of providing a co-ordinated service with statutory and voluntary services available for the client group.
- Ability to remain calm and support service users effectively in crisis.
- Demonstrable ability to provide information about rights, offer impartial advice and effectively advocate on behalf of clients
- Knowledge and understanding of safeguarding issues and ability to address them appropriately
- Ability to work with databases and keep accurate electronic records of support work
- Ability to record and manage financial transactions
- Ability to work effectively in a team
- Knowledge and understanding of safeguarding issues and ability to address them appropriately.
