**Main Purpose of Role**:
The despatch co-Ordinator’s core responsibilities are to support and assist the driver network while on the road to deliver a best-in-class service. Getting drivers on route, reviewing the days schedule, and booking the most efficient and cost-effective travel to support the drivers complete their working day with the scheduled hours.

The Despatch team is the heartbeat of the logistics operation and critical to delivering the service expected by all of XPAuto’s customers. A fast paced, challenging but extremely rewarding department enables employees to gain a wealth of logistic and business knowledge and is a steppingstone to many other positions within XPAuto’s logistics team.


**Important Information**:
The despatch team is split between two shifts, early and late to support the driver network through out the day. Shift patterns will be managed by the Despatch Supervisor.

Each despatch team member will also be on call on weekend in 6 to support the weekend drivers.

**Key Tasks / Responsibilities**:

- Ensure all drivers leave and start their jobs as per the planned schedule, any delays or issues to be escalated to the despatch supervisor.
- Full understanding of the AssetSmart Scheduling module to enable daily changes to driver’s days as and when required.
- Prepare daily work and run schedules.
- Challenge, support and resolve all drivers needs on a day-to-day basis.
- Liaising and notifying the accounts teams of any scheduling changes, driver delays or anything else that may have an impact on the service level.
- Advise drivers about traffic problems such as construction areas, accidents, congestion, weather conditions, and other hazards.
- Record and maintain files and records of customer requests, charges, expenses, inventory, and other dispatch information.
- Booking taxi’s, trains or any other travel requirements for the driver network on a daily basis but always looking at the most cost effective and efficient route for the driver.
- Printing all release notes, pairing the keys to the drivers work and allocating to the driver’s personal shelf for the next day (Late Shift).
- Reporting any driver training challenges to the Despatch Supervisor and the Training and Development Manager.
- Escalate any concerns or challenges with the Despatch Supervisor to ensure the right course of action is taken and outcome.
- Support with training new despatch team members and the driver support team whole will be utilised to cover holiday and sickness.

To carry out other duties from time to time when required by the business

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: £27,000.00 per year
