**MAIN DUTIES OF THE ROLE**

We are currently recruiting qualified complementary therapists and/or beauty therapists in the following areas to join our team of volunteers:

- Massage
- Aromatherapy
- Reflexology
- Reiki
- Indian Head Massage
- Shiatsu practitioners

You will be required to participate as a member of a multi-disciplinary team, offering treatments to patients and relatives both within the hospice and the local communities.

You will be prepared to:

- Sign in at Reception when arriving for duty and sign out on leaving.
- Wear appropriate, professional uniform as supplied and according to our dress code policy
- Wear St Helena ID badge when on duty
- Safely prepare the working environment by minimising any risk factors
- Work independently by adhering to the CT policy & procedures as well as the Code of Practice for St Helena therapies
- Confidently assess the patient/client and recognise factors to consider and adjust treatments according to the CT policy & procedures
- Confidently assist the patient/client and ensure their comfort at all times before, during and after the treatment
- Confidently recognise any contra-actions and report any concerns to the complementary therapy team lead or clinical staff on duty
- Adhere to the Lone Worker policy (community therapists)
- Adhere to the strict infection control methods at all times, and in all environments
- To complete all required paperwork, consultations and feedback as required for record keeping
- Participate in any team meeting, training and specific complementary therapy lead activities
- Participate in other activities from time to time in order to promote St Helena within the community, such as fundraising and events
- Represent St Helena in a professional manner at all times in accordance with our policies and procedures
