**ABOUT THE ROLE**:

We are looking for a Operative to join our #WeAreMcCain family.

Whilst working as part of a team within the Chilled department, the General Duties Operator is responsible for providing day to day assistance and support in respect of all routine and non-routine activities, ensuring company standards are met at all times.

You will also be:

- Responsible for working flexibly across a range of tasks from performing checks, packing, tipping, and stacking. Ensuring that appropriate tasks are undertaken to maintain the smooth running of the lines.
- Collects and disposes of all waste materials.
- Assists Technical operator in correctly setting the line for production and during changeovers.
- On the carton line, packs cartons of finished product into cases, according to product specification. Inspects filled cartons for quality issues (print quality, date stamp, seals etc) and raise any non-compliance to Technical Operator.
- On the Shake Shake line packs bags of finished product into cases, according to product specification. Inspects filled bags for quality issues (print quality, date stamp, seals etc) and raise any non-compliance to Technical Operator.
- Stacks Pallets according to designated stack patterns, ensuring manual handling, health and safety practices are followed at all times.
- Tips bags of finished product onto the line, ensuring manual handling and health and safety practices are followed at all times.
- Ensures that, where appropriate, all company documentation and procedures are followed and executed in the correct manner to company requirements.
- Reports all accidents, incidents, damage or near misses, whether caused, found or witnessed. Reports any faults or malfunctions to the Technical Operator.

All whilst maintaining high quality, hygiene, maximum production, and a high level of safety - our number one priority here at McCain.

**WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR**

You might have never worked in a food manufacturing environment before, and that’s OK We’re quick learners here at McCain, so we can teach you everything you need to know.

However, we are looking for someone who can really make a difference to our plant, who brings experience of working in a team, the ability to work closely with their manager, and who has a real ability to bring people along a change journey with them.

You must also have
- A keen eye for continuous improvement and who will strive to find areas to enhance our line operations within our plant.
- The ability to work at pace, without jeopardising quality and standards.
- A team player who can play towards creating our winning culture.
- A passion for quality with an eye for detail.

**WHERE WILL I WORK?**

You'll be based at our Whittlesey plant in Peterborough. If you’ve spotted our three wind turbines, then you’ll know where we are With about 350 employees on site, we’re one of our largest plants across the GB business. Our Whittlesey plant is where we make our famous French Fries as well as our chilled products, such as our Shake Shake Fries.
