The Food Train is an established Scottish charity and this role is based within the branch in Falkirk.

Our weekly shopping service supports older people in the local community to remain living as independently as possible. This volunteer role is available at Asda (central Falkirk) on Tuesdays each week, or Wednesday/Thursday in Morrisons, hours (approx.) 8am to 10:30am. We don’t expect volunteers to commit to all days or every week. We try to arrange our volunteer rotas around one month in advance.

Initial training and support will be provided.

Tasks include:
Shopping in the supermarket for items on people's shopping lists

Supporting with putting shopping through till

Helping to pack items into boxes ready for our delivery drivers to load the van
