**Job Title**: Jointers Mate (Low Voltage)

**Base Location**: Exeter or Plymouth

**Salary**: Up to £32,929 depending on skills and experience and working hours - Time Incentive Management (TIM) Bonus Scheme, plus a range of other benefits to support your family, finances and wellbeing.

**Working Pattern**: Full Time, 42 hours per week, Monday to Friday (7am-4pm)

**What will I be doing in this role?**

This could be the perfect opportunity for someone currently working as a Labourer, Electrical Mate, Groundworker or Utilities Operative who’s looking for a more secure, long-term role, and the chance to grow into a fully qualified Jointer.

In a typical day As a Jointers Mate, you will support a Jointer in the installation and removal of streetlighting and other highways' electrical street furniture across the Devon region, including driving and operating a HIAB vehicle, and excavation of holes.

This includes:

- Streetlighting and column installations/removals
- Using equipment such as MEWPs, HIAB vehicles, cranes and excavation tools
- Working on secured contracts with long-term clients

You'll be part of a tight-knit crew with supportive supervisors, opportunities to gain new skills, and real career progression within the Highways Electrical sector.

**What do I need to be successful in the role?**

We’re looking for someone who’s:

- Comfortable working outdoors in all weathers
- A solid team player with a good work ethic and attention to detail
- Happy to get stuck in with manual tasks and follow safety protocols

**Essential**:

- Relevant authorisation to act as Jointers Mate for DNO/IDNO service connections
- NRSWA qualification (Units 1-9 preferred)
- Appropriate NVQ (e.g., C&G 6156) or highway excavation/reinstatement qualification
- Current UK driving licence (Cat C)
- Allmi - Lorry Loader & 211 Signal Slinger

**Some of our ‘nice to haves’ are;**
- HGV Class 2 licence
- First Aid & Manual Handling certificates
- A G39 qualification
- Familiarity with Highways Lighting
