**JOB - Assembly Technician**LOCATION - Dartford, Kent**TERM - Full Time, Permanent**SALARY - £23,000 - £28,000 per annum (dependent on experience)**My client works with the Defence industry and are looking to hire an Assembly Engineer, on a permanent basis, in the Dartford area. The Assembly Technician will be reporting to the Assembly Manager.**The Assembly Technician will ideally have the following attributes**:

- Engineering BTEC/ ONC/ HNC/ HND / Apprenticeship
- 3 years experience of working in a similar hands on fitting assembly role in an engineering manufacturing environment with ISO 9001 Quality Standards
- Strong communication skills to work alongside Design and Purchasing teams
- Strong mechanical aptitude to pick up the role quickly
- Experience in working with metals
- Carrying out hand painting/marking operations on components

**The Assembly Technician role will involve**:

- Putting together fabricated assemblies - mostly metals
- Following drawings and working from instructions given
- Maintaining a clean and safe workplaces at all times
- Setting up, arranging and operating equipment
- Carrying out basic quality control checks
- Working closely with other members of the engineering team
