Working Hours: Monday - Friday 6am - 2pm and 2pm - 10pm, alternate weeks

What will this role achieve?
The Leading Hand is accountable for covering the Supervisor’s duties during holidays and absence along with developing working relationships with fellow work colleagues and maintain effective communication with the Line management team. You will also operate Wrapping Machinery. They will work closely with the Supervisor regarding any issues that they come across to achieve the production plan that ensure customer supply. You will be carrying out tasks that require a hands-on approach and operating machinery. The role will require flexibility and good communication skills. All training will be given.
The role requires a proactive individual with a ‘can do’ attitude who is committed to maintaining high standards in production whilst working as part of a dynamic team. Will be required to move lines across the factory as and when required.
What will be your key deliverables?- Day to day wrapping machine and packing duties in line with the company's Safety, Quality, and Hygiene Standards.- Directly support and communicate to the Supervisor and ensure all documentation is completed i.e. HACCP, metal detector checks, P.Q.E verifications etc.- Carry out all pre-start checks- Ensure product is made to the correct quality and specification for start of shift and throughout- Understand equipment and machinery set up- Ensure changeovers are completed to procedure Ensure any re-work procedures are followed- Ensure product is to correct quality and specification, make adjusts to machinery settings to maintain product consistency- Ensure all documentation is filled in correctly and to the right standard- Always maintain everyday factory standards safely- Train peers and new operatives in equipment use and procedures when required- Undertake basic problem diagnosis and maintenance- Ensure team understand the planning of their daily tasks- Communicate directly with relevant person to resolve any issues- Fast-paced, noisy and warm environment.
Key responsibilities when covering as Supervisor role are:
- To ensure adherence to all quality and safety standards.- To ensure plant start-up and shut-down are properly planned and performed- To achieve planned output within specification.- To maximise plant efficiency and to minimise TOS and waste.- To maximise the labour utilisation.- To ensure housekeeping and hygiene standards are maintained.- To develop line operatives in line with company best practice.- Provide a strong and co-ordinated link with all production processes on the line.- Support the Section Leaders in the introduction and support of
