**Full Job Description**:
**Job Title: Higher Level Teaching Assistant - Assessment Centre**

**Salary: £19,000 - £25,000 per annum**

**Location: Maer Newcastle-under-Lyme, Staffordshire**

**Hours: 37.5 hours per week; Monday to Friday**

**Contract: Permanent**

A new and exciting opportunity has arisen due to the opening of our assessment centre based in rural Staffordshire near the town of Newcastle under Lyme. The provision is part of Glebedale School an independent special school registered with the DfE.

Moorland Assessment Centre offers short term crisis intervention and assessment placements for children and young people with complex SEMH and additional needs who are not able to access either our school site or mainstream educational provision. Education, care and clinical staff work collectively to plan next steps and longer-term appropriate placements. Children and Young People living at the Centre will access a broad and balanced curriculum which supports both personal and academic development.

**Job Purpose**

To ensure the educational needs of all young people are met by providing a consistent and efficient service come good with the organisation's aims, objectives and philosophy.

This will involve delivering an appropriately broad, balanced, relevant and differentiated curriculum for students which will include:

- A current HLTA or equivalent qualification, along with a grade C or above in a Maths and English GCSE or equivalent, is essential. It would be ideal if you have had previous experience in a SEN School and you know about the Autistic spectrum

The job is divided into two parts:

- Lessons will be taught in groups of three, paired and 1:1 session

Located in a rural setting, situated close to Stoke on Trent, The Moorlands provides a caring, structured, and homely environment for our children. We are within commuting distance of Newcastle-under-Lyme, Hanley, Tunstall, Stafford, Crewe, Macclesfield and other surrounding towns and villages. Please note we do require a Full UK driving license for this role.
