The post holder, will be part of the Indigo team acting as a named point of contact for families when their child has died. Statutory guidance for the Child Death Review process contained within Working Together to Safeguard Children, 2018 stipulates that a key worker should be available for bereaved families, providing information and support throughout the child death review process, helping them to navigate the various systems and who can signpost them to sources of support. The postholder will also offer support to siblings and staff and professionals who have been involved in the death, offering one to one sessions and facilitating debriefs.

This post-holder will be a key part of the Child Death Review Process Team (CDRP).

The postholder will work alongside the other CDR Key worker within systems and processes in order that all families have a reliable and readily accessible point of contact after the death of their child, in the form of a Key Worker.

The key worker will be part of and supported by Indigo Team. Families and staff will be able to contact the key worker or a team member during normal working hours.
