**Purpose of the post**:
To manage a caseload of students, ensuring consistent intervention and support is provided. Work collaboratively with both the Curriculum and Inclusion Teams and with students and their families, identifying strategies that allow SEMH, SEND and/or NEET young people to successfully access education.

**Responsibilities of the post**:

- **Safeguarding**: act as Designated Safeguarding Lead, responding to and addressing Safeguarding concerns raised, including making referrals to statutory agencies. Attend and contribute to TAF’s / EHAT’s, CIN meetings, Child Protection Conferences, CLA reviews etc, and EHCP Annual Reviews where appropriate.
- **Student Progress**: Consider and implement agreed strategies or planned interventions that seek to improve our 5 key objectives; Attendance, Engagement, Behaviour, Health Needs and Educational Outcomes.

Using a PACE / Trauma Informed approach and in line with the School’s Behaviour Policy, support students to deescalate when they are experiencing difficulties regulating their behaviours / emotional responses.

Be responsible for carrying out SEMH assessments and tracking the progress of agreed targets across the academic year.

Ensure the student journey process is consistently implemented, completing all relevant paperwork and any associated Preparation for Adulthood targets are included where appropriate, for example, access to a bank account, a GP, photo ID etc.
- **Transition**: Attend external schools/colleges as part of a package of support to reintegrate / transition. Plan and support wider transition activity for students, such as inductions, travel, college interviews etc.
- **Family Support**: Conduct regular home visits and/or direct the work of student support staff to ensure robust pastoral care is available. Foster links between home and school to build positive relationships and improve outcomes for students.
- **Communication**: Ensure regular communication with teachers, parents and students and be responsible for producing reports as required. Maintain accurate and up to date records following all internal reporting procedures and use of any online recording systems. (I.e Eduspot, data spreadsheets etc)
- **Enrichment**: Contribute to the development and delivery of the PSHE curriculum by ensuring students have access to resources and activity that supports them to make healthy choices, such as smoking cessation or sexual health.

Contribute to the success of the careers curriculum by ensuring students have access to independent information, advice and guidance and access to appropriate information and support to make choices about their future.
- **Multi-agency working**: Create and maintain positive working relationships with external agencies and promote the accessibility of external support for students and their families.
- **Wider School**: Provide cover / support where required across the school and assist in the supervision of students as required, for example, on trips, at break times or in exams, or in the event of staff shortages.

**General Duties**:

- Support, uphold and contribute to the development of ES policies and procedures.
- Manage your online calendar and ensure important deadlines are met, seeking support where required.
- Commitment to your own continuous professional development (CPD).
- Take an active part in appraising own work as part of the annual appraisal process.
- Attend company training days, team building, INSET Days and meetings as required.
- Be willing to travel sporadically between sites.
- Attend ES Team Awards ceremony held annually each December.
- Access 1:1 coaching and support from your line manager.

- Other reasonable duties may be allocated from time to time commensurate with the general character of the post and its grading.

Pay: £15.00-£16.00 per hour

Expected hours: 35 per week
