**Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities**:
- To organise and co-ordinate site work with minimum risk to health and safety of themselves and others.
- To comply with the Company Safety Policy, Procedures Manual and relevant site-specific regulations.
- To work closely with Management to ensure that specific asbestos remediation works are carried out in a safe manner and to ensure that they are completed on time as per the agreed programme of works.
- To ensure that agreed method statements, Codes of Practice and Risk Assessments are adhered to and all Registers (including the Site Diary) and records are kept up to date.
- To ensure that all safety signs are in place with associated barrier tape/fencing to prevent members of the public gaining access to sites, and if this is not possible/practical, to warn members of the public of the inherent hazard involved.
- To ensure that operatives are competent and hold where applicable, certificates to operate work equipment.
- To ensure that storage of hazardous materials on site comply with statutory requirements.
- To maintain a tidy site with good housekeeping with safe access and egress to places of work.
- To ensure that all work equipment is safe to use and properly maintained.
- To ensure a suitable supply of PPE and RPE is available and is used when required to do so.
- To ensure all accidents are entered into the Accident Book, the entry is then to be sent to the Health and Safety Manager to deal with accordingly.
- To liaise with the Contracts Manager when carrying out site audits on jobs. To rectify as a matter of high priority all defects and contraventions of the Regulations and Plan of Work if necessary. Site problems with health and safety should be discussed with the Health and Safety Manager and solutions found.
- You are expected to carry out any other duties that may reasonably be required in line with your main duties.
