Senior PR Officer

Tropic Skincar e i s looking for an enthusiastic, confident, results-driven individual who is full of ideas to take Tropic’s press coverage to the next level.

This role will be responsible for driving Tropic’s press coverage, covering product, brand, founder profiling and CSR, through strategic pitching, press meetings, creative mailers, and events as well as awards and podcasts appearances. This is a brand new role, created as Tropic brings PR in-house to support its growth and invests in taking its PR activity to the next level. You’ll work closely with the PR/influencer team as well as social, digital marketing, content and design.

Reporting to the head of the PR team and Marketing Director, this role offers lots of room for career progression for a go-getter who drives results and acts as the ultimate brand advocate to press and industry. This is the ideal role for someone passionate about the industry, knows the beauty pages inside out, can spot a trend before it’s taken off and has great relationships with key beauty journalists.

**Key Responsibilities
- **Media Liaison**:Act as the primary point of contact for all media interactions.
- **Pitching**:Proactively pitch to consumer, trade, and business media with a personali s ed approach. We are l ooking for a storyteller with a skill for spotting and developing hooks, adapting their ideas to s uit different media titles.
- **Collaboration**:Work closely with internal teams to generate compelling hooks using sales data, sustainability stats, and social trends; analyse the results for effectiveness.
- **Networking**:Build and maintain relationships with affiliate/commerce teams.
- **Promotional Support**:Utili s e Linkby to support promotions and new product launches.
- **Press Engagement**:Organi s e weekly in-real-life meetings with the press, including arranging regular HQ tours to our Surrey Beauty Kitchen.
- **Founder Profiling**:Coordinate podcast appearances, broadcast opportunities, and editorial content for the company founder.
- **Event Management**:Assist in event planning and manage press attendance.
- **Creative Collaboration**:Work with the wider PR team to develop creative mailer concepts and press assets.
- **Strategy Development**:Contribute to strategies aimed at increasing both the volume and quality of press mentions.
- **Awards Management**:Oversee the submission of entries for various industry awards.

**What We're Looking For
- **Industry Experience**:Must have experience working with beauty brands, preferably skincare. Experience working on founder-led brands is a plus.
- **Network**:Must have strong, well-established press relationships.
- **Industry Knowledge**:In-depth understanding of the who's - who in publications, current social media trends, and industry dynamics.

**What We Offer
- Full-time role: typical pattern 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday, but some evening work will be required around key events and networking opportunities.
- Hybrid working with a minimum of 2 days a week in the office as standard. Min 1 day a week working in London for desk-sides/media appointments and industry networking events.
