Interventional Radiology Administrator/pathway

An exciting opportunity has arisen for you to provide full administrative support to the Interventional Radiology Department, staff and patients at Colchester General Hospital.
You will liaise with Consultant Radiologists, Radiographers, Consultants and key personnel within ESNEFT and external hospitals. You will be expected to maintain a high level of patient confidentiality whilst accessing the Hospital-based Information systems and all other patient identifiable data.
The position requires a flexible approach, the ability to work proactively and use of one’s own initiative whilst possessing a confident and professional manner.
- Liaise with Consultant Radiologists to get the Interventional requests/ ordercoms vetted.
- Assist the Lead Radiographer in monitoring all Interventional requests/ ordercoms on the CRIS waiting list. (Computerised Radiology Information System).
- Book Interventional patients into the CRIS Diary and also use the paper diary, ensuring the correct information is sent i.e. blood forms, leaflets and preparation for the patients.
- Put the planned appointments on to CRIS correctly and ensure that these are sent out in a timely fashion allowing plenty of notice for the patients.
- Review and assess all new cancer patient referrals encompassing all modalities and cross checking that they are showing on the Cancer Pathway System (Somerset)
- Monitor on daily basis the target requests to ensure that they are promptly reviewed and vetted by either a Consultant Radiologists or Sonographers.
- Provide daily updates to the MDT Co-Ordinator Team Manager on the “Daily Radiology Escalations”.
- Monitor and ensure that all vetted target scans are offered an appointment within the Cancer Pathway waiting times. (Escalating any delays/ potential delays).
