**Job purpose**

Provide technical support in order to ensure that we meet and exceed our own and customer requirements: including BRC Level A, Supermarket own label UK and EU food safety requirements. Ensure any new products comply with our own and customer standards regarding quality and safety.

**Main duties**
- Ensure the Quality Management System (QMS) is functioning properly and up-to-date
- Ensure all operatives are trained to the QMS procedures and supervise their practices
- Ensure all work is carried out in line with operating and QM procedures
- Ensure that the sampling schedule is up-to-date
- Help with customers visits and audits
- Provide support to the New Product Development Technologist on the development of products that comply with the company’s quality requirements and offer support on factory trials
- Write customer specifications and liaise with QA Technologist to write factory specifications.
- Take an active part in the HACCP team
- Keep up to date with Customer COP’s and ensure new versions are made available to the wider team as appropriate
- Maintain data and information on retailerplatforms
- Produce reports for the management meetings
- Be one of the people who checks and approves artwork.
- Take an active part in continuous improvement initiatives
- Conduct GMP audits and scheduled internal audits
- Coordinate the process of complaint management, investigation and response.
- Support the Production team by providing technical support and advice
- Work with the Production team on continuous development to improve the work carried out in the factory and the quality and safety of our products
- Control CIC’s and ensure manual is up to date.

- Doing goods intake checks for all deliveries.
- Recording any supplier non-conformances, tracking and assessing supplier performance.
- Taking samples aseptically for lab analysis, and booking lab testing.
- Ensuring retained samples are labelled and stored correctly for ongoing shelf life assessments.
- Doing environmental testing including water testing, environmental swabs & hand swabs, verifying cleaning efficiency.
- Managing lab testing regime by reviewing test results and data analysis.
- Maintaining material HOLD procedures and positive releasing assessed goods.
- Conducting routine QA audits, GMP checks, glass and plastic register audit, paperwork inspections.
- Conducting product organoleptic tests and taste panels.
- Performing calibrations on scales, checkweighers, metal detectors and cleaning chemical dispensers.
- Identifying external calibration needs for equipment and contacting external parties.
- Supporting the operation team by providing technical advice and assistance.
- Managing site pest control program by performing regular inspections and being key contact for service contractor.
- Ensuring all quality policies and procedures are up to date, and are communicated and trained to the business.
- Controlling and maintaining HACCP manual, ensuring all HACCP documents are audit-ready.
- Reviewing risk assessments for all raw materials and suppliers, ensuring all relevant documents are up to date.
- Conducting horizontal scanning on raw materials, as part of TACCP/VACCP assessment process.
- Managing site internal audit programme, overseeing audit performances and findings.
- Managing customer complaint data, conducting technical performance review with retailers’ technical manager.
