Field Operations Supervisor

As a Field Operations Supervisor at Tortuga, you’ll serve a pivotal role at the company by overseeing the success of our world-leading operations team and robotic harvesting fleet at our farm sites in the UK. Your responsibility will grow as large as your experienceand passion allows. **What you’ll do**: - Manage the day-to-day operations and team members at one or more of our farm sites - Communicate with, and actively coach and mentor, UK Ops team members (15-30 min check-ins weekly or daily as needed); - Surface issues from the field and communicate to the Ops leadership team - Work with the Ops leadership team on deployment for your designated site (number of robots, logistics and support, administration, resourcing, etc.) - At times, contribute to and guide troubleshooting and training - Contribute content to joint management tools such as Jira, wiki.js, and other Ops tools - Coordinate with Field Robotics Engineering Manager on ops resourcing and people development **What we’re looking for**: - Required: 2+ years of operational leadership in a challenging field (including but not limited to: agriculture, military logistics or special operations, complex/heavy machinery) - Required: Exceptional ability to communicate and coordinate, through voice, video, written communication, and presentations, across levels of management and across multiple geographies - Required: Excitement and maturity to build relationships with world-leading produce growers and their teams - Required: B.S. or relevant degree, with exposure to a variety of technical disciplines - Required: Willingness and excitement to work in an unstructured, outdoor environment; you will be spending the majority of time working at our farm sites The base salary range represents the low and high end of our wage range for this position. Actual salaries may vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to experience, education, responsibilities, and regularand/or necessary travel. The range listed is just one component of Tortuga’s total compensation package for employees. You will be entitled to 25 days’ holiday in each holiday year (which shall be prorated in the year in which your employment commences). In addition, you are entitled to the usual public holidays in England and Wales. Your principal place of work will be at our office/warehouse in Chichester, UK.
