**What makes this role unique?**
Our technicians and engineers are a vital component of what Thames Water does. Our technicians are key figures on any site and often in the eye of the public. You will help with the day-to-day operation of our sewage treatment works. You will be a team playerand be able to think on your feet and problem solve. Those with a can-do attitude and who can work efficiently are paramount to what we require to enable us to provide an exceptional service to our customers.
**What will this role involve?**
The purpose of this role is to perform a range of assigned front-line maintenance/operational activities on our sewage treatment works.
This will include planned and preventative maintenance of sewage pumping stations to support the operation of our assets.
The role may also require you to take part in a 1 week in every 6 weeks out of hour's emergency standby rota, for which you receive additional payments.
On a day-to-day basis, you will receive your “workload” and will also be responding to emergency alarms. You will be working as part of a team but may also be alone which highlights the importance of our high health and safety standards.
**What we are looking for: ONC/HNC in engineering, NVQ, or C&G level 3 in Electrical engineering**:
- **Qualification in mechanical NVQ 2/3 **would also be beneficial although not essential
- A valid driving license is essential
- Having previous experience in an electrical apprenticeship, with an **18th Edition qualification **beneficial
- Be physically capable to carry out the duties of the roleas you will work in confined spaces with successful completion of the appropriate training
- **Knowledge and awareness of health and safety** issues are crucial
- Be a time served apprentice with **significant experience in electrical systems** ideally working in a “true multi-skilled” capacity

- **Proactive -** take the lead on recommendations and improvements around the site and communicate effectively
