The Pre-op Team are looking for a band 3 Administrator to join the busy and fast-paced department. This role is required to deliver excellent patient care and surgical services across Greater Manchester.

The post holder should have experience of patient administration or scheduling appointments on behalf of patients. Have excellent attention to detail, be well organised and able to work well as part of a team. Excellent IT skills required.

The post will be Full-time - 30 hours over 5 days (hours to be discussed).
- To manage all areas of the administration services of the pre-op assessment department.
- Liaise closely with the scheduling team and surgical secretaries to provide a full administrative service including appointment scheduling when required.
- Ensure accurate and timely input of patient details and attendance data in to patient administration system (Medway). Routine use of case note tracking.
- Working with Theatre Manager and Service Managers, contribute to the appropriate management of the waiting list with particular reference to cancer and waiting time targets.
- Liaise with staff at all levels both internally and externally, answering written and verbal enquiries when necessary, taking action on all matters which can be dealt with without further reference.
- Liaise with internal and external departments to arrange clinical investigations/procedures and obtain verbal and written results to relay to medical and nursing team.
- Answer written and verbal enquiries and provide general non-clinical advice and information to relatives or carers, referring enquiries to medical or nursing staff when necessary.
- Ensure patient case notes are kept up-to-date and that all investigations and other documentation including correspondence are appropriately filed according to Health Records standard.

To provide comprehensive administrative support to the staff and users of the pre-op assessment department, including the co-ordination and scheduling of patient appointments for pre-op assessment, anaesthetic assessment, C-PET and Lung function services.

Reception of patients and visitors to the department.
- Follow risk management procedures at all times including the identification, assessment and management of risk within the division.
- To abide by all Trust policies and Procedures.
- To be responsible for own professional /personal development, including participating in ongoing appraisal and personal development planning.
