**JOB DESCRIPTION AND PERSON SPECIFICATION**

Ash Green School, Coventry
**SALARY**
NJC Scale J point 25-28
FTE £32,020 - £34,733
Actual salary £27,418 - £29,741
37 hours per week, 38 weeks plus 5 Inset days totalling 39 weeks per year
**THE ROLE**
Support the SENDCo in leading SEND (Special Education Needs and Disabilities) provision day-today, supporting all children and implementing an inclusive curriculum to ensure students achieve. Work proactively to ensure that children who may experience barriers to learning are able to successfully engaged and make good progress.
**REPORTING LINES**
Report to the SENDCO
**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**
Work effectively with SEND students across key stages 3 and 4.
Keyworker lead for Year 6/7 transition.
Provide support, training, and development to colleagues around SEND and learning support.
Line management of Teaching Assistants.
Plan and carry out initial and ongoing assessment of pupils.
Plan, deliver, monitor and support interventions (including whole school interventions) to ensure students are making progress.
Regularly review and update provision maps for students.
Comply with the SEND Code of Practice ensuring all students on the SEN register have termly meetings to review their progress and update their one-page profile.
Regularly review the SEN Register with the SENDCo to ensure this is up to date.
Liaise and work closely with external agencies as needed.
Log all relevant information including intervention work on provision maps.
Prepare referral forms and make referrals for assessments / support for a range of needs.
Organise any follow-up tasks following the report and communicate with all relevant parties as required.
Keep individual student files updated.
Consistently use and model strategies and procedures that provide inclusive person-centred support.
Help children to follow the Behaviour for Learning Policy to ensure they are successful whole school.
Build trust and develop positive relationships with children, parents / carers, and their wider circle of support.
**SCHOOL ETHOS AND COMMUNITY**
Work with parents and students to ensure that they have an understanding of the aims of the school, its policies and procedures and future direction.
Foster a culture where students respect others and their physical surroundings through implementing a range of strategies developed with external consultants, monitoring their impact on outcomes.
**SUPPORTING THE WORK OF CREATIVE EDUCATION TRUST**
Develop strong, positive relationships with Creative Education Trust colleagues; participating in trust-wide work and projects as appropriate.
Participate with internal and external partners and specialists to share best practice, contribute to the development of Trust strategies and policies and promote the school and Creative Education Trust in a national context.
Undertake any other reasonable duties deemed appropriate to the role.
