My client looking to recruit a pro-active, enthusiastic and experienced Quantity Surveyor, with Civil Engineering and Utilities experience, specifically to develop our WIRS and GIRS division which is at it's final stages of gaining accreditation.

You will have the ability to prioritise a demanding workload, maintain a meticulous eye for detail and have the ability to complete a smooth handover to the project delivery team.

You will have proven experience of sourcing and gaining new works contracts and seeing them through from first enquiry to project completion, ensuring projects are completed on time and to budget. Taking commercial responsibility for the contract performancefor allocated works to maximise both turnover and profitability for contracts allocated.

You will be an integral part of the operations team responsible for the successful delivery of multiple schemes varying in scale, scope and contract type. Managing a portfolio of works with a value ranging from £1000 to £2m. You will provide expert adviceand knowledge on commercial and contractual matters playing an integral role in the commercial success of projects..

**Role/ Responsibilities**
- Proactively seek new work opportunities
- Price all projects to tender specification
- Source all resources, materials and labour, collating all costing information and location availability
- Manage interim payment schedules and final accounts
- Report to Directors with weekly costing's, budget reviews and progress of upcoming projects
- Record and report on additions/variations and evidence this to clients to gain prior agreements
- Brief project managers on project requirements and resources prior to project start
- Client/customer liaison regarding budgets and queries maintaining excellent customer focus
- Monitor resource allocation, works programming schedule
- You will receive administration and financial support from the office team as required

**Key Skills and Attributes**

Essential
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience within a Quantity Surveyor role
- Minimum of 5 years' experience within the Civil Engineering/Utilities Industry
- Member of a professional body or working toward i.e., RICS, ICES or equivalent.
- Proven experience of sourcing and gaining new works contracts
- Financially/ Commercially aware and numerically confident
- Able to build effective working relationships with customers and suppliers
- Excellent interpersonal and professional communication skills, both verbal and written and able to communicate effectively with both internal and external personnel at all levels
- The ability to manage multiple tasks, assign, prioritise and manage own time effectively in order to meet or exceed role expectations and objectives
- Ability to remain calm when working under pressure
- Excellent level of IT - Word, Excel and Outlook
- Extremely organised and self
- motivated

- Working hours Monday to Friday 40 hours per week (part/time flexible hours are negotiable for the right person)
