They will have excellent organisational and time-management skills and be able to prioritise work effectively to meet objectives and deadlines. They will be comfortable with, and proactively adapt to rapid changes in educational trends within the sector. They will be able to plan and prioritise their own schedule of work to achieve objectives, have strong IT skills and happy to be part of a close-knit team with shared objectives.
We are looking for an individual who has experience working within an industrial or commercial setting and who holds at least a Level 3 vocational qualification in Electrical Installation. You will be capable of sharing your knowledge with our students in an engaging and informative manner. We would provide support for gaining a formal teaching qualification alongside your work with us and settling into college life. Help with relocation costs can also be considered.
This post would contribute to the college's contribution to the Local Skills Improvement Plan (LSIP) by embracing low-carbon technology in the field.
Teaching experience is desirable, but we are looking for someone who is confident in sharing their experience and knowledge with our students. We would support you in gaining a formal teaching qualification alongside your work with us.
**Job Overview**:
- Teaching: Deliver engaging and effective lessons across a variety of construction trades, including Carpentry & Joinery, Brickwork, Plastering, Painting & Decorating, Plumbing, and Tiling.
- Research & Consultancy: Engage in significant research and consultancy activities to enhance the academic and practical learning experience.
- Course Verification & Leadership: Oversee course verification processes, coordinate course teams, and provide leadership to ensure high standards of education.
- Impactful Role: Play a crucial role in shaping the future of the construction industry by mentoring and educating the next generation of skilled professionals.
- Classroom Management: To seek to ensure that student retention and achievement targets are met. Provide a safe and healthy environment in which to work and learn. Ensure a high quality of adequate resources and materials are provided to enhance learning, thereby enriching the opportunity and experience of learners.
