By joining our Repairs and Investment Delivery team on a four-year contract, you’ll be investing in yourself as you develop core skills whilst also gaining valuable real world industry experience. On top of all this, you’ll be working towards your Level 3 Apprenticeship in Electrical Installation to become Electrical qualified.

What you’ll be getting up to
As an Electrical Apprentice, you’ll support the team with repairs, maintenance and the servicing of electrical systems in YH homes.
A day in the life might look a bit like this
Working alongside an experienced electrician
Assisting with routine checks and testing of all types of electrical systems
Locating and repairing electrical faults
You’ll also be trained on the maintenance and installation of new and refurbished electrical systems using a full range of materials and techniques to maximise your learning
As well as all that
You’ll attend college, completing and passing all related coursework and exams to obtain your Level 3 Electrical qualification
You’ll provide excellent customer service - we expect you to treat customers with respect, kindness and a friendly face
You’ll work effectively in your own team and with other teams across Yorkshire Housing
You’ll carry out your work to the highest standards and comply with our health and safety regulations
You’ll produce accurate and timely information/records on the work you’ve completed
This is a jam-packed role, and there’s loads of scope for development. At the end of your apprenticeship, we’ll work together to support you into a fully qualified Electrician role. Are you ready to embrace your next challenge? Here’s what we need from you
What you’ll bring to the role
GCSE Grade C/Level 4 or above in Maths, English and Science
Able to pass a colour blind test
A desire to grow your career as an Electrician (work experience in a similar role is a bonus but not essential)
Good practical skills with a methodical approach to work
Driven and self-motivated
Passionate about doing the right thing, not the easy thing
Ability to manage own workload and meet deadlines
Excellent teamwork skills
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
As part of this role, you’re expected to attend college one day a week or for block release and complete the required assignments, along with any associated tests.
