In 2020, Barbour launched Wax for Life, an overarching name for all of Barbour’s wax services designed to encourage customers to extend the life of their wax garments. Wax for Life includes re-waxing and repairs (first introduced in 1921) and Barbour Re-Loved an upcycling circularity initiative. Each year over 70,000 wax garments are sent back to Barbour globally to be repaired, rewaxed or altered.

**Position Overview**:
We are looking for a Catering Assistant to join our catering team on a 30-hour per week contract. This This role will act as a floater and will be key to assisting in the provision of catering services across our three South Shields sites.

**Essential Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Services provided to be made promptly, efficiently and speedily
- Act as a floater, covering absence or sickness across all 3 South Shields sites.
- Responsible for the provision of tea, coffee, soft drinks, confectionery and a palatable variety of sandwiches and light bites /teas are to be made available to any member of staff who requires that service
- To arrange for the vending machines to be adequately stocked from time to time
- Upon receipt of timely catering request forms to serve at meetings when requested
- After receiving payment, administer written records, all monies to be kept safe and banked in a secure fashion as agreed from time to time with the Finance Director
- Stock ordering & rotation
- Completing all checks/updating all records in line with Health & Safety guidelines
- Undertake any other reasonable activity, as may be required by senior management

**Skills and Experience**:

- Experience within a similar role would be an advantage but not essential
- A valid Food Hygiene Certificate is desirable
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Competent level of customer service skills
- Smart appearance

**Additional Information**:

- Working hours for this role will be Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 2:30pm.
- As the role will act as a floater across all 3 South Shields sites, covering any sickness or absence, flexibility will be essential. Some Saturday or Sunday working may be needed to cover absence or sickness across weekend shifts.
