**Hours**: part-time, 24 hours across 3 days, 6:30am starts.

We are looking for a Collections Van Driver to join our team on a part-time basis working 24 hours per week to be worked over 3 days. The role will be to collect from all our donations points throughout Manchester, Liverpool and Leeds and other surrounding towns and cities as our donation points grow.

**What you’ll be doing**:
This fast-paced role will involve the collection of bags of donations mainly from the Manchester, Leeds and Liverpool area collection points, plus some travel to Nottingham and occasional other national coverage. Therefore an early start is necessary, ideally around 6.30am.

**Main Responsibilities**:

- To collect from all banks on each route assigned by the Stock and Logistics Manager
- To weigh and then load the clothes donations onto the collection vehicle whilst taking care of health and safety and customer care
- To deliver the collected stock to a logistics base in Manchester and prepare it for transportation to the Nottingham Distribution Centre
- Be an excellent ambassador for White Rose and the face of the company by ensuring a professional and courteous manner at all times and being flexible and amenable to requests for collections
- To work collaboratively with the Stock and Logistics Manager to develop efficient routes and methods of operating.
- To support with the distribution of clothing banks to new donation points in Manchester. This involves meeting with delivery drivers and our clients and ensuring that clothing banks are placed in the right locations
- To maintain the clothing banks, keep them clean, free of graffiti and touched up with paint when signs of wear and tear appear

**Your skills and experience**:

- A full UK clean driving license for minimum of 3 years
- Experience working in logistics and/or driving for business for a minimum of 1 year
- Experience in working in an autonomous role
- The ability to manage your time effectively and organise your time efficiently
- Experience in charity retail sector collections would be preferable
- Good customer service skills
- Able to effectively communicate with all stakeholders - clients, customers, departments, colleagues and organisations.
- A good knowledge of safe systems of work, safe lifting and compliance with health and safety and driving regulations.
- A proactive attitude
- Ability to undertake a lot of heavy lifting and continuous manual handling
