Hello, I am a full-time volunteer CEO of HumanitAid. (Charitable Incorporated Organisation. Registered in England and Wales. Charity No: 1194287). I am of Ukrainian descent myself, but England has been my home for the last 20 years.

We are planning to run our English learning programme for people who have been granted a UK visa (under the Homes for Ukraine scheme) and get them into the level of skilled work they were doing back home or to learn new skills.

We're seeking an English Language Assessor to help assist our growing team.

With your passion for and expertise in teaching, you will assess oral English language skills amongst newly arrived learners. You will carry out English Language initial assessments of oral skills via the Zoom platform. Assessors will also be required to carry out oral skills assessment Interviews with applicants, complete the initial assessment form and recommend an appropriate language level to enrol on the British Council English Online course (fully flexible, intensive). We work in partnership with the British Council. The applicants will receive support from the Language Assessor (who will be their primary point of contact throughout their time with HumanitAid). The Language Assessor will also be trained to help applicants with the CV and interview questions and provide a list of companies that are open to hiring Ukrainians.

Assessors are required to commit to training and standardisation exercises and keep up to date with departmental meetings and changes to administration processes.

Our Integration Programme will also involve continuous support of the participants in their preferred language.

**Qualifications**:

- CELTA or equivalent - essential
- DELTA - desirable
- English language and/or assessment experience - essential
- Ukrainian - essential

**Key responsibilities**:

- Conducting initial assessment for English language skills
- Providing assessment feedback
- Maintaining contact with the people who we help
- Be available to answer questions in a friendly and helpful manner
- Guide people who require information and support through available resources and processes
- Work with the team to coordinate scheduling and availability

We advertise a full-time position, working from home.

This position will report to Senior Language Consultant.

**Salary**: £29,925.00-£32,560.00 per year
