We're currently looking for a Fire Door Assessor to join us on a permanent basis, due to travel a full UK driving licence and transport is required.

**The role**:
As a Fire Door Assessor with Sovereign Housing, you will undertake inspections on fire doors and other passive and active fire components, provide reports on condition as well as potential upgrades and repairs.

**Key Accountabilities include**:

- Providing technical support across to the fire safety team on passive and active fire installations across SHA stock
- Completing visual inspections and surveys on fire doors to ensure they meet compliance standards
- Undertaking site-based follow up inspections to validate the delivery requirements relating to fire risk assessment remedial actions.
- Installation and maintenance specification and workstreams relating to fire doors
- Engaging with external and internal contractors to validate, fire stopping, and compartmentalisation works and reporting findings back to the building safety and compliance management team.
- Supporting the fire safety team in prioritising the fire door inspection and replacement programme
- Producing reports and offer advice and recommendations to internal and external relating to fire doors and fire works
- Maintaining the fire door register and ensure that validation activities are undertaken
- Auditing on completion of any remedial works by project teams to ensure original work scope has been achieved and that all works have been done in accordance with relevant technical guidance from manufacturers and accreditation bodies.

**What we need from you**:

- Previous experience in Fire Door Inspections or building surveyor experience with knowledge of Stock Condition Surveys for social housing
- FIRAS/BM TRADA (Preferred but not essential)
- Good understanding of Fire Doors & Fire Stopping principles
- Working knowledge of current Health & Safety and other relevant legislation
- Good communication skills and ability to represent the company in a professional manner
- Hold a current full UK driving licence
- Confident and outgoing personality with excellent interpersonal skills.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Etc.)
- Good time management and ability to cope with pressure and manage own workload and work to deadlines.
