MBA are currently exclusively recruiting for a Payroll Team Leader on a remote basis. This role will be managing the payroll department and ensuring an efficient and timely delivery of the companies' payroll. To oversee the payroll processes and be responsiblefor day-to-day instructions to the payroll providers
As the Payroll Team Leader, you will assist the Payroll Manager by ensuring that employees are paid correctly, and appropriate information is communicated to our pension providers, HMRC and other statutory or third-party bodies.
Role & Responsibilities of the Payroll Team Leader:

- Deputise for the Payroll Manager when they are absent or working on wider business projects.
- To oversee the accurate preparation and input of payroll data into the integrated HR/Payroll systems to include starters, leavers, and amendments.
- Manage the Payroll team ensuring tasks are completed accurately and on time
- Overseeing the governance of payroll ensuring 100% accuracy.
- Support the Payroll Manager to ensure that statutory returns are made to relevant authorities on time, e.g. HMRC and the Pension provider, P11ds and P60s
- Ensure CHAPS payments are reconciled back to payroll report and that CHAPS payments are authorised
- Assist the Payroll Manager in communicating changes to payroll processes to business managers and other colleagues
- Preparing the payroll and providing support for signing off delivery of monthly payroll and T&A services to the business
- In consultation with the payroll provider to administer and calculate employee pay, overtime, SSP, SMP, Pensions and other adjustments.
- To support the timely and accurate completion of the monthly payroll and be responsible for this in the Payroll Manager's absence.
- Ongoing training and support of operational managers, to give them the knowledge and tools to be able to use the time and attendance system correctly, escalating to the Payroll Manager ongoing issues that are affecting the accuracy and timeliness of colleaguepay.
- To assist the Payroll Manager in producing detailed management reports as required by the senior managers.
- To keep up to date with relevant regulations/legislation and supporting the Payroll Manager in determining the impact of any changes and helping to implement changes where necessary.
- Helping the Payroll Manager to ensure all employees are kept informed of changes which may impact on the organisation or individuals.
- To help the Payroll Manager to produce and maintain up-to-date and comprehensive guidance notes on using the payroll systems.
