**Buyer / Purchaser**

We are looking for two procurement specialists with the relevant Buying experience.

These are permanent positions in a challenging and rewarding role, with lots of change (due to growth the sometimes bespoke nature of the business) They are positions with real career / personal growth potential for the commercially aware Buyer, with experience ideally being gained within multifaceted construction, engineering or a manufacturing environment.

The second position is suitable for a midlevel Buyer / Purchaser.

**Key Role - mid level**:
Report to the Senior Buyer any issues arising with goods or deliveries that are not in line with specification, quality or programme.

Develop skills and experience to work autonomously in being the dedicated Buyer for individual projects.

Ensure modular components are in due time scheduled; procured; delivered; all in accordance with project programmes and specifications.

Co-ordinate procurement with the Design team and be aware of lead times for goods and factory build dates.

Generate pricing enquiries.

Reduce business risk and exposure.

Invoice processing and recording.

Update buying reports or schedules and obtain order acknowledgements and defined delivery dates.

Contribute to and/or manage packing lists.

Assisting with International delivery requirements and Export documentation.

Provide support to site teams for plant and equipment.

Review plant on hire and organise off-hire in a timely manner to reduce cost exposure.

Be commercially aware and have the ability to negotiate better prices or discounts.

**PERSON SPECIFICATION**

**Qualifications**

A background in Construction, Engineering or Manufacturing is required and a proven track record in a relevant Buying environment is a mandatory requirement.

**Knowledge**

Knowledge and demonstrable ability in purchasing, scheduling, logistics performance and management.

Demonstrate good knowledge in product specification and managing costs within the Supply Chain.

Excellent people and communication skills.

Review and develop Company SOP’s to maintain up to date procedures.

Be able to demonstrate a track record of delivering effective buying procedures, and a systematic approach to purchasing.

**Skills**

Able to work on own initiative and as well as part of a wider Commercial or Project team.

Able to communicate and demonstrate a professional approach to Supply Chain Members.

Management of time and be able to prioritise tasks whilst also being flexible and adaptable in their approach.

A positive attitude is a must

Demonstrate an ability and understanding of the products used with the business framework.

Capable of working through, developing and introducing spreadsheets and trackers.
