Deputy Chief Actuary

**Description**:
We have a rare opportunity for a Deputy Chief Actuary to join AXA UK where you will be responsible for delivering all aspects of the Actuarial Function requirements for AXA Insurance. Supporting the UK Chief Actuary, the role holder will work collaboratively with other managers in the wider function to ensure that there is consistency across the AXA Insurance and AXA Health entities in delivering value adding independent opinions and advice to the businesses.

**What you’ll be doing**:
- Manage relationships across 1st and 2nd line teams to ensure that there is a joined up and coherent link across pricing/underwriting, reserving, capital and risk reviews for the basis of the actuarial opinions.
- Keep up to date with the latest actuarial, market and regulatory developments and provide thought leadership in these areas.
- Lead and manage the Actuarial Function contributions to other regulatory reports, such as the SFCR, RSR and ORSA for AXA Insurance
- Responsible for the implementation of the group capital model (STEC) for calculation of solvency capital requirements for AXA Insurance. This includes the review and validation of the model and preparing the model Solvency II validation report.
- Lead on developments of risk models underlying the calculation of the capital requirements such as climate modelling, cyber risk etc.
- Deputise for the UK Chief Actuary when required.
- Working with UK Chief Actuary and peers in AXA Health to ensure consistency and knowledge sharing across the UK Actuarial Function teams.
**Qualifications**:
- Demonstrable experience working in a similar role and with UK General Insurance with a great understanding of current and developing UK regulatory framework
- A qualified actuary with UK experience in risk, capital modelling, reserving and pricing
- Analytical problem-solving skills, but ability to see bigger picture and think strategically
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills - ability to communicate technical concepts to a wide range of audiences
- Team leadership skills - ability to work collaboratively across teams
