We are seeking someone available immediately to cover the short term (3 months) absence of our permanent Handyperson.

**Requirements**:

- Ability to work in a fast paced, ever changing environment covering a wide range of general maintenance tasks in a customer environment
- General maintenance/DIY experience preferably in a guest/customer environment
- Ability to work in a safe and tidy way ensuring all areas are left safe and tidy on completion/when being left
- Self motivation to work alone once you have liaised with the General Manager to prioritise the days tasks
- Good level of spoken English to communicate with colleagues and guests

**The Role**

We are seeking someone local who has a combination of good DIY and basic Gardening skills for general maintenance tasks and gardening, to ensure the Hotel is kept in good repair both inside and outside.

The hours of work can be flexible over 4 days totalling 25 hrs per week. There can be some flexibility in these days/hours if required but a good spread of weekdays is essential to tie in with available access to guest accommodation and when the gardens are quieter. It is very rare to be needed but emergency help at the weekend would be a great help.

The job holder will report to the General Manager who will assist with designating preventative maintenance tasks as well as general maintenance tasks to keep the Hotel functioning/presentable and in good repair.

Examples of general tasks would include;
- Tightening taps
- Replacing washers on dripping taps
- Replacing lightbulbs
- Taking down light shades for cleaning
- Repair grouting in bathrooms/showers
- Replace cracked tiles
- Painting / wall paper repair
- Tightening toilet seats
- Minor leak repairs
- Tuning televisions
- Replacing sealant in bathrooms
- Staining internal/external woodwork
- Grass cutting and edge trimming
- Watering planters

The skills required for this role are general DIY skills as you will be supported by our nominated contractors with larger tasks and refurbishments.
