The Listening Lounge in Salford is a 24-hour friendly and supportive community space open to anyone in Salford who has been referred by a health care professional and requires an urgent assessment of their mental health needs without the need for medical treatment.

Our aim is to offer a 1:1 holistic assessment of an individual’s mental health needs from qualified mental health practitioners and support staff in a relaxed and comfortable environment, avoiding long waits in emergency departments.

The Listening Lounge provides brief psychosocial interventions in a calm environment to help identify and promote positive coping strategies, and complete referrals to identified and appropriate services, and signpost to other local support services.

The postholder will also be involved with assessing, planning, implementing, documenting and evaluating individual programmes of care and risk assessment for designated clients who utilise the two crisis beds at the Hollybank service, who will remain under the care of the Home Based Treatment Team.

The team operates a 24/7 service, therefore there will be a requirement to cover shift work. Flexible working requests can and will be supported however possible.
