We are seeking an inspiring and engaging lecturer to deliver teaching on _all or some of _the following modules:
**Emancipation to Revolution: Russia 1861-1921 (HM4405)**

This first-year (Level 4) module introduces students to the study of Russian history in the late imperial period and to the historiography of the Russian revolutions. Film, visual and audio materials form part of the study.

**Revolution from Above: the Soviet Union, 1921-1953 (HM5406)**

This second-year (Level 5) module examines the history of the Soviet Union up to 1953 through an examination of the key elements of Stalin’s ‘revolution from above’, the impact of the Second World War and post-war developments. Key emphasis is placed on the exploration of historiographical debates and a critique of both primary and secondary source materials.

Contributions on History methods to **Research and Enquiry (HM5001)**

This second-year (Level 5) module aims to provide students with a range of approaches to investigation and research in key arts and humanities disciplines. One of its chief aims is to prepare students for the Dissertation at Level 6. Students will consider a variety of methods and critical perspectives and gain the practical skills used to conduct independent research.

**HM4405** and **HM5406** will be delivered in twelve 3-hour sessions between mid-September and December 2024. **HM5001** will be delivered in 6 2-hour sessions between mid-September and December 2024. Duties will also include marking of student work (including into January 2025) and tutorial support for students on the modules.
- a PhD (or close to submitting) in a relevant field;
- experience of undergraduate teaching in History and areas related to module
- strategies for maximising student engagement
- a coherent teaching philosophy
