Outwood Academy Acklam, Middlesbrough have an exciting opportunity for a Safeguarding Officer to join our team.

Outwood Academy Acklam places students at the centre of everything it does, with a focus on creating a culture of success, a positive climate for learning, and increased student attainment, achievement and social and emotional development. You must possess the skills and determination to make a significant difference to the lives of our students and share our single goal of ‘Students First’.

You will play a key role in the ongoing health and welfare of students and staff across the School. As an Inclusion Quality Mark Centre of Excellence and recipient of the Carnegie Gold Award for Mental Health in schools, you will be part of an amazing team dedicated to supporting students.

You will have experience of working with children and/or families within a safeguarding and child protection environment. A committed team worker, you will carry a caseload and work on your own initiative. Time management skills are essential given the variety of this challenging, yet rewarding role. Previous experience of working with children and families and with other agencies and recent experience of social services work in child protection is essential.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a highly motivated and driven individual, you must possess the skills and determination to make a significant difference to the lives of our students. The purpose of this post is to fulfil our responsibility in the safeguarding of our students and enhance the life chances of our students at Outwood Academy Acklam.
