Sheltered Housing Responder

Assess the situation upon arrival and co-ordinate an appropriate response/escalation procedure which may result in summoning further assistance or providing support to the customer
- Respond to all emergency call outs within 45 minutes
- Use key safe information to access service user’s homes
- Activate the call equipment linked to the control centre to indicate arrival on site
- Signpost the situation on site the get the Service User the support they need to make them safe and well
- Stay on site until the incident has been fully resolved
- Record details of visits, the incident and details of actions taken, and the relevant parties informed

There is no personal care involved.

The role is to work on a 3 days on and 6 days off on a twenty four hour rolling rota. This is a 24 hour service and call outs can be any time day or night. You will be an approachable and empathetic person who is flexible, committed and reliable. Experience in a social care or housing background would be an advantage though not essential for the right person.

A full driving license will be required, there is a pool car provided. For an ideal logístical fit you will live in the Hexham area.

The rate of pay is £98.36 per day regardless if you attend any call outs (daily shift allowance £52.60 plus 3 guaranteed hours at £11.44 per hour). Any over time is paid at £11.44 per hour and bank holidays are paid at enhanced rates.
