We have a fantastic opportunity available for a Payments Officer to join our Adult Social Care team at Wokingham Borough Council, on a full time, permanent basis.
As Payments Officer you will raise purchase requests for suppliers providing care services, process payment invoices from suppliers and resolve invoice queries.
This role will include calculating and raising invoices to customers, providing relevant advice to both internal and external providers/customers in line with the Council’s policy and the Care Act.

**Key responsibilities**:
- To process purchase requests and issue purchase orders to suppliers
- Following process and procedure as per the Care Act 2014
- Communicate with colleagues and customers in an easy-to-understand language.
- Monitor on a daily basis team inbox and post received
- Accurately calculate and process payments for supplier invoices to ensure correct budgetary controls are maintained
- Accurately raise invoices to customers to enable the accurate and timely collection of customer contributions;
- Experience of working in an office environment.

- The ability to work with volume and be accurate.
- Customer service ethos, striving to continually improve.
- The ability to work on their own initiative and take ownership as well as working as part of a team.
