**About us**:
Set within UCL’s Faculty of The Built Environment, The Bartlett School of Environment, Energy and Resources (BSEER) is comprised of four world-class Institutes. This post, within the UCL Institute for Sustainable Resources, will provide a varied Research Assistant roles to projects of the UCL Centre for Net Zero Market Design.

**About the role**:
The role holder will provide a variety of research assistant tasks, principally relating to projects conducted through the UCL Centre for Net Zero Market Design, as guided by the Centre’s Research Director Dr Malte Jansen, under the overall Centre Director, Prof Michael Grubb. Priority would be given to support core projects under the Centre, which over 2025-26 relate especially to the economic, system and policy dimensions of accommodating rapidly rising contributions from variable renewables on the UK electricity system. The role holder would potentially also contribute to a range of other projects and related tasks associated with the Centre.

This post is available from 1 July 2025 and is funded for 12 months in the first instance; further funding to support the post may become available.

**About you**:
Applicants should have a Postgraduate degree in social sciences, economics or energy studies, including successful completion of quantitative research and/or qualitative research projects or dissertation in a relevant field, along with demonstrated knowledge of UK and international energy issues. In addition, the role would require good computing skills, including MS office packages and databases, and good communication skills, both written and verbal.
