**Technical Architect**

**Remote -**with occasional office travel

Our Public Sector client is looking to bring in a Technical Architect on a 6-month remote contract with occasional travel to the office.

**Assignment Description**
- Documents existing architecture - high level components and functions of the system as well as component mapping for use by future IT maintenance
- Establishes set of critical design and operational parameters
- Works with SMEs and developer to create conceptual solutions for existing issues, selecting the best fit for taking forward
- Provides relevant stakeholders with an overview of the system's target state once current projects (including McCloud, Practitioners) implemented
- Produces high-level solution design for standalone calculator for McCloud project, from existing project spec and with input from SMEs and other colleagues, using solution architecture best practice
- Works with developer who is producing low-level technical spec for McCloud standalone calculator to identify best practice solution
- Works with developer to ensure McCloud APIs fit into overall technical solution design for agency at present and in future
- Provides input to and helps develop Change Function according to best practice to support current ongoing projects and future BAU, and documents change process for future reference
- Identifies, assesses and escalates agency risks to the success of ongoing projects including PPP
- Provides input to discussions with supplier on ad hoc development work required for McCloud NHS & Teachers solutions to ensure meets best practice and fits with overall agency architecture
- Provides input to discussions with supplier on Altair future releases to resolve conflicts with agency architecture (if applicable)
- Challenges supplier on proposed solutions for CLASS group development for McCloud to ensure meets best practice and fits with overall agency architecture
- Contributes to the agency technical planning both on current platform and following through to future platform
- Adheres to the appropriate best practice standards across SG and private sector
- Communicates effectively with a wide range of colleagues, both technical and non-technical, to ensure understanding of the development goals
- Contributes to the planning and management of the delivery of new platform for Pension Administration and related projects ensuring that realistic project plans are maintained

**Essential Skills and Experience**
- Experience and knowledge of current best practice solution design
- Experience and knowledge of Change Management processes
- Experience and knowledge of REST API
- A knowledge and awareness of financial services IT Systems
- Business Process Reengineering
