Stantec is working on many of the world’s largest, complex and most exciting dams and hydro projects. Due to our ongoing success we are rapidly growing and seek an experienced Hydrologist and/or Flood Modeller to join our dynamic team, working on the design and development of cutting-edge dams, hydropower and pumped storage hydro solutions. This role may be split between a hydrologist and flood modeller or may be combined. We are looking for someone with experience in this/these areas ranging from mid to senior level.

It is a great opportunity to join a growing multi disciplinary team involved in projects as varied and different as Coire Glas in Scotland, Koysha in Ethiopia, and Dinorwig in Wales, as well as supporting many of the UK water companies with inspections, remediation and development of new dams and reservoirs.

You will have a good understanding of how the various disciplines within the design process come together to create an integrated solution. You will be responsible for working and liaising with project managers, technical leaders, design engineers and clients to achieve positive outcomes for the projects and community.

**About You**

You will have experience in some of the following areas;
- Hydrology and Reservoir Flood Routing following UK practice inc, FEH and ReFH2 methodologies
- Modelling systems using Flood Modeller, MIKE and HEC RAS modelling software
- Dam Break modelling
- General dam / reservoir design experience and
- Design/assessment of hydraulic structures
- Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD)

You will have strong communication skills to give technical presentations to clients and other design engineers as well as inputting into collaborative design discussions including technical workshops.
