DevOps Engineer

DevOps Engineer - to £45k + excellent benefits - Horsham, West Sussex (Hybrid working)

Our client are looking for a DevOps Engineer to join their team, the role is hybrid and will allow up to 3 days a week working remotely.

An exciting new opportunity has arisen to join a market-leading telecommunications company and join the growing Operations team to help build functional systems that improve internal and external customer experience. They are looking for a DevOps engineerwho can be responsible for deploying product updates, improve the monitoring solutions, identify production issues, and implementing integrations that meet customers’ needs.

**Your day-to-day responsibilities include**:

- Building and implementing new internal tools and infrastructure
- Understanding the needs of stakeholders and conveying them to developers
- Working on ways to automate and improve development and release processes
- Testing and examining code written by others and analysing results
- Ensuring that systems are safe and secure against cybersecurity threats
- Identifying technical problems and developing software updates and fixes
- Identifying and correcting weaknesses in the current monitoring capabilities
- Working with software developers and software engineers to ensure that development follows established processes and works as intended

**Responsibilities**
- Deploy updates and fixes of latest software solutions
- Build tools to reduce occurrence of errors and improve customer experience
- Develop software to integrate with internal back-end systems
- Perform root cause analysis of production errors and resolve technical issues
- Develop scripts to automate visualisation
- Design procedures for system troubleshooting and maintenance

**We require you to have**:

- Experience as a DevOps engineer or in a similar
- Proficiency with Git and GitHub CLI workflows
- High Proficiency in Linux CLI (Ideally Ubuntu)
- Working knowledge of Microsoft SQL server
- Good knowledge of Ruby, Python PowerShell, and Bash.
- Problem-solving attitude
- Collaborative team spirit

**Desirable**:

- Bachelor of science degree (or equivalent) in computer science, engineering, or relevant field
- Experience working with Containerization and Orchestration (Docker and Kubernetes)
- Exposure to IAC tools such as Terraform.
- Exposure to Configuration Management tools such as Ansible, Puppet and Chef.
- Experience working with automation testing tools such as Selenium and Appium
- Experience with monitoring tools such as Prometheus and Zabbix.
