**SPAR Food Service Assistants (Walsall Manor)**

**2x 16 Hours P/W.**

**Various shifts available**.**

We have big plans for our **Walsall Manor**store**, and we are looking for enthusiastic staff to help us deliver them. This coming May we are transforming our store into a new type of food offering. As well as snacks, sandwiches, hot food such as pie/pasties etc we will be offering an exciting range of cooked meals to include Sunday lunches.

Therefore, we have some **exciting opportunities** for a number of **Food service assistants** who like to have fun working with a team and is passionate about offering excellent service and standards to our customers.

We are looking for someone who is motivated, friendly, hands-on and enjoys working in retail.

**Some Responsibilities**:

- To assist in maximising sales and profit of the fresh food operation by carrying out allocated tasks in order to contribute to the continuous improvement of the department and its staff, control of range, costs and leakage and provision of friendly, efficient service to customers, colleagues and visitors.
- To deliver customer service in line with SPARkling Service standards
- To contribute ideas for driving the department and it’s team forward
- To use relevant processes and policies to ensure the security of people, stock and cash
- Reports all customer complaints to manager on duty
- To comply with relevant legislation and health and food safety responsibilities as defined in the induction period and training

**Some Skills/Experience**:

- Basic education (numeracy and literacy) essential
- Basic Food Hygiene - must have or be prepared to undertake this qualification
- NVQ Level 2-3 in Food Safety, Retail Skills, Customer Care or similar is preferred but not essential
- Previous experience in a similar role and/or industry is preferred
- Reliably follows instructions and procedures
- Some understanding of health and food safety and legislative responsibilities of a fresh food operation and the skills to assist with those responsibilities
