The contracted hours would be:
Wednesday
- 8:00-13:00
Thursday
- 13:30-18:30
Friday
- 8:00-16:00
Additional hours may be required from time to time to support the team.

Main duties of the job
To provide a high quality, professional service to patients, doctors, colleagues, health professionals and others. Deal with telephone enquiries from patients, family members and hospitals, ensuring the Practice is always portrayed in the highest possible professional manner. To ensure that enquiries from patients are efficiently and courteously handled.
- Possess excellent IT skills and a willingness to learn
- Be capable of prioritising tasks and remaining calm under pressure
- Work to a high professional standard and avoid mistakes
- Have excellent communication skills to liaise with patients and colleagues
- Be able to deal with anxious and demanding patients
- Demonstrate flexibility in hours to support the team
Previous experience within Primary Care is an advantage, but not essential as training will be given.
About us
Billinghay Medical Practice is a rural and caring practice which provides a range of services for the 4,900 patients who are registered with us.
We have a skilled and experienced team comprising of 3 GPs, 3 Advanced Nurse Practitioners, Clinical Care Co-ordinator and an excellent nursing team. Alongside these we have a highly motivated and competent Reception / Administration and Dispensary teams.
We strive to ensure every patient receives excellent medical services from all members of staff within the Practice. We treat all patients and staff with dignity, independence, respect and honesty in an environment that is accessible, safe and friendly.
Job description
The following are the main responsibilities of a Receptionist;
Making appointments
Giving out results
Ambulance transport bookings
Home visit requests
Deal with general enquiries and complaints
Contacting other providers
Register new patients and temporary residents
Greet and direct patients and visitors
Signpost all AskmyGP requests
Ensure outstanding queries are explained and handed over to the next shift
Respond to needs of doctors and nurses during surgery
Collect payments from patients for non-NHS services
Deal with general enquiries and complaints
Pulling Lloyd George envelopes when requested by doctors
Input and extract information from Practice computer system
Observe health and safety guidelines at all times
General housekeeping (e.g. keeping reception and waiting areas tidy)
Any other reasonable duties as necessary
**Job Type**: Part-time
Part-time hours: 17.5 per week
**Salary**: £9.55 per hour
