We are seeking an enthusiastic and driven Tax Senior to work as part of the Corporate Tax team within our Business Tax Advisory team, where you will be managing a portfolio of corporate tax clients and giving tax planning advice. Your role involves drafting Self-Assessment tax returns, reviewing the returns prepared by colleagues and providing proactive tax planning advice to clients. You will be keen to provide a hands on compliance role that exceeds client expectations and support your Partner/Manager team on advisory projects

**Key responsibilities include**:

- Managing a portfolio of Corporate Tax Self-Assessment tax returns
- Reviewing corporate tax returns and computations prepared by team members
- Supporting the tax managers / partners
- Assisting with tax advisory work
- Managing workload and client expectations
- Working within budgets set at the planning stage
- Overseeing staff in preparation of tax returns and computations, providing training where required and assisting with their development
- Ensuring the efficient use of appropriate software packages
- Maintain an up to date understanding of tax clients’ businesses
- Maintain a good working relationship with clients
- Have an awareness of the wide range of Larking Gowen services and spot opportunities to potentially sell these services to clients
- Take an active role in business development, and promoting the firm in the local area
- Contacting / responding to clients and liaising with HMRC
- Consistently achieve deadlines and understand the commercial implications of actions relating to
- productivity, recoverability, fee income and client service
- Communicate workload with manager or partner
- Ensure the Firm carries out its professional duties properly.
- Work with less experienced colleagues to develop their specialist areas.

Attend training courses as identified in order to develop both technical and personal skills and keep records for compliance purposes.

Adheres to the Firm’s risk management policies and procedures.

Undertakes other duties to meet the demands of the business.

**Desirables**:
Education and qualification
- ACA, ACCA, CTA (or equivalent).

Essential:

- Significant experience within practice
- Experience of preparation of corporate tax returns
- Experience of coaching or mentoring colleagues
- Experience working as part of a multi-disciplined team
- Proven ability to adapt quickly to changing deadline and priorities.
- Experience of preparing and reviewing technically complex advice
- Ability to work flexibly as part of a team
- Ability to respond to risks in an appropriate fashion

Desirable
- Undertaking firm-wide responsibilities.
- Experience of the use of Alphatax software for tax compliance work, review and reporting

**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time

**Salary**: From £38,000.00 per year
