An exceptional Legal 500 legal practice with a great presence in the Surrey and surrounding areas are seeking an ambitious and motivated Solicitor to join the Private Client team, specifically to work on Tax and Trusts and matters.

Areas of focus will include:

- Residence and domicile and tax planning for non-residents or non-domiciliary’ s
- International tax treaties, in respect of tax residence and liability to taxation of income, capital gains and inheritances
- UK legal and tax issues facing trustees and beneficiaries of overseas trusts
- The implications for investors or businessmen coming into the UK or doing business in the UK
- Tax issues on leaving the UK
- Complex international business issues

Duties will include:

- Assisting on a varied caseload of private client matters to include advising on and preparing wills
- Advise on inheritance tax and capital gains tax issues
- Preparing trustees resolutions and deeds of appointment of funds.
- Correspondence with executors, trustees, beneficiaries and other professionals.
- Promoting a compassionate and sensitive disposition and client experience when dealing with the elderly or incapacitated.
- Proactively networking and marketing within the team to generate new business and reputation.
- Attending clients in their own environment as required.
- Responsibility for mentoring and assisting more junior team members.
- Maintaining good billings records within the team.

Desired Skills:

- Legal background with specific experience in tax and trusts matters as well as the whole range of private client law
- Qualified Solicitor / Legal Executive and STEP / CTA qualifications highly desirable
- High degree of knowledge of complex trust accounting, including specialist areas such as Landed estates and charitable trusts
- Knowledgeable in the areas of Inheritance and Capital Gains Tax advice
- Enthusiasm and commitment
