We’re looking for a Maintenance Operative to join our busy DC in Northampton. Working within a team engaged in planned and reactive maintenance, repair, modification and installation of automated warehouse machinery and equipment throughout the DC.

Engage in general maintenance and repair of building, building equipment, systems and facilities throughout the DC site.

**Responsibilities**:

- To assess and carry out maintenance procedures in a safe and timely manner without putting other employees at risk.
- Inspect and identify machinery requiring repair.
- Troubleshoot machinery performance issues.
- Liaise with Dept heads where and when repairs are taking place.
- Ensure down time is kept to a mínimal level.
- Perform general repairs that do not require specialised technicians such as painting, basic carpentry and plumbing.
- Liaise & manage external contractors visiting site to carry out onsite repairs.
- Ensure the accurate and safe use of the in-house systems by the team to ensure efficient working practices; Working within Risk Assessment and Method Statement boundaries.
- Operate within Health and Safety legislation and Levi's® Health and Safety requirements to contribute to a safe, challenging, rewarding, productive environment.

**Required skills and competencies to consider before applying**:

- Previous experience of working in a FMCG Warehouse operation;
- Ability to diagnose mechanical issues and carry out repairs.
- Ability to work under pressure;
- Ability to climb vertical ladders and work at height up to 20 metres.
- Ability to lift heavy weights.
- Ability to use hand tools and power tools.
- Ability to work in confined spaces.
- Ability to collaborate and build internal and external partnerships;
- Must be self-motivated and be able work without supervision.
- Maintain/repair low level components whilst working on hands and knees.
- Flexibility; Willing to work overtime or finish late to complete repairs before work starts the following morning (also includes working in other Depts when required).
- Initiative; Carry out repairs as needed sometimes improvising solutions.
- Good communication skills;
- PC skills - Good understanding and knowledge of computer databases, back up procedures;
- Knowledge and understanding of Health and Safety procedures.
- Ability to work as a cross-functional team player.
