Nature Recovery Coordinator
This is an exciting time to be working in the environment sector and Cornwall Council is helping to lead the way locally and nationally. Cornwall Council’s Nature Recovery Team is spearheading the new Local Nature Recovery Strategy, working in conjunction with the Cornwall and Isles of Scilly Local Nature Partnership, and partners across government organisations, charities and academia. This forms part of our local response to the ecological emergency, building on our existing ambitious long-term Cornwall Environmental Growth Strategy.
The Nature Recovery Team has also secured funding from Government to pilot the creation of a local framework to channel more private investment into delivery of Nature Recovery. The Local Investment in Nature-Cornwall (LINC) project is part of a national programme involving 3 other areas of England.
Applications are sought for the following posts to support the development of our ambitious plans including:
- Nature Recovery Policy Lead
- Nature Recovery Analyst
- Nature Recovery Farms Liaison Officer
- Nature Recovery Coordinator
- Senior Marine Environment Officer
- Environmental Economist
Environmental expertise is desirable but not essential for many of the roles. The roles do require exceptional communication and engagement skills as the roles will involve working with a variety of stakeholders including elected Members, strategic partners, residents, landowners, farmers alongside other Council services and communities to deliver our collective nature recovery ambitions.
The post holders will help ensure the Council meet the statutory duties set out in the Environment Act particularly relating to Nature Recovery and will play a leading role in maximizing opportunities for Cornwall to contribute to local and national ambitions to create a great environment for all.
