**WATFORD MENCAP **are recruiting **Independent Living Buddies** for our small, personalised “supported living” homes in Watford and Rickmansworth.

We are seeking enthusiastic and energetic workers to support 4 ladies with Learning Disabilities in their home in Rickmansworth, and 6 gentlemen with Learning Disabilities in their homes in Watford. It's no ordinary job and every day can be different. Most importantly it's about offering opportunities for people to experience things that many of us take for granted.

You will be based in one of our Supported Living projects but will be part of a team working across the service. The job is very varied and will involve supporting people with a range of daily activities from housekeeping to going to the theatre; going on holidays; shopping in London and attending appointments.

We are looking for someone with a flexible “can do” attitude, good IT skills, alongside an eye for detail, emotional resilience and being able to juggle a broad and diverse workload. In return you will find this an extremely rewarding job where you will be making a real difference to peoples’ lives on a daily basis.

Our clients have told us:

- “I_ _like my support worker to accompany us on holidays and it’s nice when they take us to see our relatives too.”_

Our female clients in Rickmansworth have informed us they wish to have female workers support them with their personal care.

We can offer flexible work patterns, but you would need to be able to join in with weekend and evening shifts; and sleep-ins. We are supporting people in a great location close to Watford, with good links to bus and train travel. Being a driver is an advantage as that can help people with limited mobility to be able to get out and about.

If you feel passionate about all people being given an opportunity to live life to the full then this type of job could suit you very well. Previous experience somewhere in social/health care or mental health support is desirable.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent
Part-time hours: 24 per week

**Salary**: £10.00 per hour
