We are looking to appoint a Post-Doctoral Research Associate to work as part of the Mental Health Translational Research Collaboration (MH-TRC) Mission in the Mental Health Research for Innovation Centre (M-RIC) aligned to the NIHR Mental Health Translational Research Collaboration, and which sits within a ground-breaking new Centre: Civic Health Innovation Labs (CHIL).
M-RIC is an ambitious programme of work jointly delivered between University of Liverpool and Mersey care NHS Foundation Trust (MCFT) until December 2027. It will have wide reaching benefits to the region whilst raising the profile of all partners as leaders in Mental Health Innovation.
We are seeking to recruit a highly motivated individual who will work independently and as part of a diverse group of people on the social or wider determinants of mental health and wellbeing. You will need excellent organisational and time management skills to coordinate and work effectively between diverse projects that form part of the M-RIC themes.
You should have good knowledge of the broad issues relevant to the treatment, care and prevention of mental distress and an understanding of health, mental health and wellbeing inequalities. An ability to use diverse methods in the pursuit of applied knowledge is preferred and a PhD, completed or near to completion, in a relevant discipline required.
You will have experience of working collaboratively with partners and members of the public and skills in qualitative and quantitative research methods.
The post is available on a fixed term basis until 31May 2026.
If you are still awaiting your PhD to be awarded you will be appointed at Grade 6, spine point 30. Upon written confirmation that you have been awarded your PhD, your salary will be increased to Grade 7, spine point 31
