Volunteer Production Roles for Digital Media

Quilombo UK is a Social Enterprise working with the objective to promote and encourage an intercultural understanding between different communities and societies; To promote cultural awareness in the community and educate, regardless of nationality or origin, about race diversity and mutual respect; and run a community organisation with a strong focus on individuals, the community and society.
**Role Description**:
This is an entry-level volunteer position designed for those starting their journey in Pre-Production, Production or Post Production for Digital Media and Podcasts.
**Main Tasks**:
- Provide input on creative ideas for content.
- Monitor post-production processes to guarantee accurate completion of details and adherence to quality standards.
- Conduct meetings with staff to discuss production progress, ensuring goals and objectives are met.
- Working on Research and admin tasks when not in the studio.
- Keeping track of inventory and equipment and updating lists as needed.
- Taking careful notes during meetings and writing up reports based on notes.
- Assist the team during setup, broadcast, and striking of studio equipment for podcasts, live streaming, and video production
- Locate and gather scripts and other source materials for video and podcast production
- Finding scripts and other source materials.
- Maintain a clear and comprehensive system for content files and archives
- Assist in production related tasks as needed
- Approving major production changes, Coordinating work, managing whole edits and producing ideas for content
- Monitoring post-production processes to ensure accurate completion of details
**Required Skills and Experience**
- Adaptable and flexible approach to work.
- Ability to work under pressure.
- Previous broadcast or live streaming experience
- Basic knowledge of DSLR/Mirrorless cameras and professional camcorders (e.g. Sony NX100 or similar)
- Basic knowledge of HDMI, SDI, and Cat6 cables, extensions, and adapters
- Basic knowledge of editing and use of Adobe Premiere Pro
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Flexibility and openness to work on a variety of tasks
- Focused, organised and able to prioritise and execute tasks independently
- BS degree in film studies, cinematography or related field.
**Desirable Skills**
- Committed to working with the community with a passion for helping others less fortunate is preferable, although not a must.
- Show professionalism at all levels and in all environments
- Be a strong team player
- Well organised, pro-active, self-starter and able to deliver tasks efficiently.
- Good time-management skills
Mentorship programme available.
Training in Camera, Audio, and Editing are available in the department.
**The Professional Development Programme with Quilombo UK runs over a period of 16 weeks, is UNPAID and requires a minimum of 12 hours commitment per week across Monday to Friday (2 days per week).**
